It’s time to wrap up in 2021! What an exciting year it was for the ABC TECH team where we achieved our goals and then some.
We all learned how to navigate in these pandemic times and business became far more „normal“ compared to 2020. Of course, we still live in challenging times, but with a much more positive perspective and look into the future.
When it comes to banking, digitalization was the „buzzword“ of the year, as digital became the main channel for interaction. And we are proud that this year we helped many new clients to support their clients with our digital banking solution Leonus. During the process, we utilized our expertise in both digital and core banking, helping our clients such as Gorenjska Bank to implement Leonus digital for SME in a record-breaking time. With other clients that recognized our solution, Leonus digital will end this year integrated or in the process of integration with 7 different Core banking systems, which shows our commitment to the composable banking philosophy and showcase the quality of our Leonus digital and our team behind it.
In that process, our partners and clients are the main value on that path. Our international partner Mambu, a leading SaaS core banking provider achieved unicorn status, and we are proud to have our Leonus digital as a part of their composable banking offering, with many interesting initiatives on the way to being realized in 2022.
Also, our friends from Identyum, Microblink, CroAI, and many others helped us introduce some of the exciting features and functionalities for our core and digital systems in the upcoming year as a part of our composable banking philosophy.
We are proud of our conference activities this year too. Together with Mambu, we were the main sponsor on one of the leading regional banking conferences Tehnobank in Belgrade this year, and with our friends from AmCham, we co-hosted the best banking conference in BiH this year on the future of banking. In 2022 we hope that the circumstances will enable us to continue this trend.
In terms of expansion, Belgrade is the latest addition to our group presence. The office we established this summer enabled us to approach the market of Serbia, Montenegro, and Bulgaria with more direct and tailor-made offerings, yielding first results already as we got our first client in Montenegro, Adriatic bank. And much exciting news for 2022 is just around the corner.
But our expansion did not stop there: With Gorenjska Banka we entered the market in Slovenia, with groundbreaking SME digital bank Relio we expanded to the Swiss market, and we further consolidated our positions in the existing markets. In Croatia, we were the first vendor to introduce SEPA instant payment with our client Partner banka. With Sberbank Croatia, we introduced our own PSD2 module and in OTP and Union Banka we introduced a completely rebuilt Loan origination module (ECM) based on a modern tech stack. And we started one of the largest banking projects in Croatia: Core banking implementation for Slatinska Banka.
This shows recognition of ABC TECH both as a future-oriented vendor, but also with strong expertise in traditional banking, capable of the most challenging tasks.
It was both a challenging and exciting year for us at ABC TECH: we did deep organizational restructuring, profiling the group as a modern, future thinking banking tech provider, expanding to new markets, and attracting new clients and talents at the same time. Lots of work but with great results. Our revenue grew close to 100% compared to 2020, and our client portfolio increased in double digits.
Of course, none of this would be possible without our fantastic employees that make this company. Without the trust of our clients, and without the support of our partners. As we continue in 2022, expanding to new markets, introducing new products, and expanding our overall presence and size, we stay confident knowing that the success we have is built on these great foundations.
